Saraswota Shrestha

Saraswota Shrestha is 23, and after getting married early this year, lives in Jhapa in the eastern part of Nepal. As she has little means of support, she was pleased to learn about Nirdhan Bank and its willingness to consider lending to women like her. She has asked for a loan to buy a cow, and plans to earn some ready income from the sale of its milk. She is hopeful this will improve her livelihood, and also her participation in the community. She would like to buy another cow sometime in the future, and if she can save enough money, little by little, eventually build a small, but at least stable house.
