Aquelina Pereira

Aquelina Pereira has been noting the shopping patterns of her neighbours in Tibar, a village not far from Dili. She's concluded there is plenty of demand for the groceries, snacks, sweets, drinks, and mobile phone credit, that she sells from her small kiosk. Having successfully repaid an earlier loan from Moris Rasik and Good Return, she now seeks a second loan to expand the range of stock in her shop.

Aquelina (24) and her husband have one son, and live with his parents in a very small house. He is a gardener, and cultivates corn, cassava and green vegetables for sale at the market. She hopes that with increased sales and income, they can build their own home and move out from her parents in law.
