Rosantina Ribeiro

Rosantina Ribeiro is 43 and lives with her husband Julio and their 9 children. She lives in a rural village named Fatuahi in Dili. Rosantina runs a small kiosk and she also makes flat woven fans used for winnowing (for cleaning rice before cooking). She started this as a business on the side due to increasing competition from other kiosks in her village. Her husband Julio is a builder however he only works when his services are needed for the construction of homes.

Rosantina would like to take out this loan in order to expand her small kiosk and also to make more flat woven fans to sell in her rural village. This will eventually increase their household income so they are able to improve their living conditions and send their children to school.
