Disaster relief appeal – Philippines hit by Typhoon Haiyan
Please support Good Return's disaster relief appeal to assist families impacted by the devastation caused by Super Typhoon Haiyan. From 12 November to 12 December 2013, Good Return is dedicating 100% of all donations to disaster relief efforts in the Philippines. Your financial assistance goes directly to our partner SECDEP (St Elizabeth Community Development Program), which is based out of Iloilo City and works across the islands of Panay and Guimaras. Northern Panay Island was hit particularly hard by Typhoon Haiyan.
SECDEP provides its clients – a portion of whom are Good Return borrowers – with disaster relief supplies such as clean water, food, and soap and cleaning supplies, so families can go about rebuilding their lives. Once the basic needs are met, SECDEP clients begin to use their savings or take out new loans to repair their fishing boats, houses, or re-plant destroyed crops.
Funds raised for an emergency appeal are applied to the emergency response and for rehabilitation activities in the affected areas. If funds raised exceed amount needed for this appeal, funds will be used to fund loans to SECDEP borrowers. Photo courtesy of ABC, Reuters / Raul Banias
